Print Screen Mac

The Windows PC has a nice “Print Screen” button at the top of the keyboard that takes a picture of the screen. This picture can then be pasted into other applications such as Photoshop. Apple products do not have this button, and it is not very intuitive on how it is done. Here are the three ways to do a print screen mac, or screen capture, in Mac OSX:

1. How to do a “print screen button” capture:

Press the Apple key ⌘ (command) + Shift + 3 all at the same time
Print Screen will appear on desktop

2. How to “print screen” a selected portion of screen:

Press the Apple key ⌘ (command) + Shift + 4 all at the same time
The cursor change to +
Drag a box around the section and release the mouse
Print Screen will appear on desktop

3. How to “print screen” from a selected application window:

Press the Apple key ⌘ (command) + Shift + 4 all at the same time
The cursor change to +
Press the spacebar
The cursor will change to a camera. Simply click on the window to be captured.
Print Screen will appear on desktop
